Ben Sachs Chicago Reader Any charm evaporates amid the rampant amorality. Sep 27, 2012 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Thomson is more successful at visual composition than narrative momentum; would-be sequences of black comedy are too stretched out to benefit from timing. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 27, 2012 Full Review Calum Marsh Slant Magazine A tonal hodgepodge ever at odds with itself, Tomasz Thomson's unctuous, tongue-in-cheek debut is far too self-satisfied with its jokes for any to really be funny. Rated: 1.5/4 Sep 16, 2012 Full Review Doris Toumarkine Film Journal International Fun, often droll crime thriller about a grungy slob of a hit man given an assignment in the remote, snowy Carpathian Mountains provides a nifty ride for both more demanding audiences and the usual suspects looking for raunchiness. Sep 14, 2012 Full Review Marshall Fine Hollywood & Fine A gloomy comedy that's funnier in theory than in practice. Sep 13, 2012 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews A zany Teutonic character-driven film noir that's filled with deadpan comedy. Audience Member Plenty of dark, not much comedy. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie was so good. It's like a Coen Brothers film.... Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member OK flick (and a mediocre word play) that's not too easy to classify. It's not very funny, it's not very thrilling and it's not dramatic either. It's like a dark comedy, and it works out all right. There are many turns here, and some are good others are bad. You never know what you are gonna get here, that's for sure. Nice music, cool characters and an atmospheric that works out. Cool and cold camera shootin. It's like "Fargo" meets "A Somewhat Gentle Man" - just with a poorer result. Snowman's Land is not bad, but it could have been so much better with a few grips. 7 out of 10 public toilet assasins. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member This had great laughs. Quality. Too farcical for high praise. #thesquare from Australia was better foreign #asimpleplan type movie. This would be a great re-make for the US market. See this. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review jesse o This is a competently made film with some good moments, visually, and some funny scenes. The problems come in with the narrative. The narrative is absolutely nonexistent. The movie just throws out this character that is fed up with being a hitman and seeks a change of profession and scenery. That's it, this is set up in the beginning of the film. The rest of it is absolutely nothing. There's no real motivation to keep watching since the movie is going nowhere at all. Like any film, it has its moments and it's not bad at all, it's simply dull due to its non-story. That's all I have to say, if there had been an effort to make the story interesting it could've been considerably better. Still an average film and some people will enjoy it more than I did. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved this movie, the opposite personalities of the hitmen go well together and even though it moves slow you never get bored. I highly recommend this because most likely it will disappear in a year or so and might be forgotten...a hidden gem! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
