Lauren Hutton’s Leigh ranks quite easily among the more thrilling female protagonists of the 1970s. And Carpenter’s script affords her a wicked sense of humor and gleeful resourcefulness. Go to Full Review

Carpenter's 'Someone's Watching Me!' isn't just good for a TV movie. It's a good movie, period. Go to Full Review

Overall this is a standard "made for TV" movie, albeit with a few visual flourishes from John Carpenter. What sets it apart is Adrienne Barbeau playing an amazing queer woman in the 70s. What a character! Go to Full Review

Like Michael Mann with The Jericho Mile, it ably demonstrated that Carpenter was someone too skilled to only be confined to boob-tube fodder. Go to Full Review

Star H @RT83863424 Mar 5 Might fall into my 70s/80s "gold" category (but WAY down the list). Lauren Hutton is just so hot imho that its worth the watch for her (if you like her too). Some off-beat stuff here and there but lots of annoying (and LOUD) telephone ringing. Definitely NOT a rewatch. See more Jason H @RT50328122 Dec 27 The police are worthless. The cops in this movie are pretty inept, too. See more Farah R @Farah Nov 27 John Carpenter sets the stage for Lauren Hutton's strong lead to realize his cinematic genius in this Hitchcockesque thriller. The unique cinematography is fantastic, building tension through innovative perspectives, long takes, and subjective camera shots that place viewers in the POV of the unseen stalker, looking through a telescope into the protagonist's apartment. The tension feels real, and although the story unfolds slowly, it's a hearty recommendation for Carpenter and genre fans. See more helder f @uniquecliches 10/06/2024 Surprisingly good for a tv movie, but a bit too underwhelming. The story is not very well developed, and the scenes are a bit repetitive . How many time will a stalker call you and how many times will you pick up? See more Steve D @RT35616104 03/15/2023 Good enough to justify a theatrical release, See more a.l.jude p @judebd 12/14/2022 This movie ought to be the very best in its genre. So power portraits by all the cast and I had to sit on the edge till the end. This is a must to see if you ever loved movies. See more Read all reviews
