Stepbrothers Ritchie (D.B. Sweeney), Mikey (William Forsythe) and Fred (Robert Miranda) take their ailing father (Samuel Fuller) from an American veteran's hospital on a pilgrimage to Normandy, where he had seen action in World War II and once had a girlfriend. The trio -- who spend much of the journey to France arguing -- hang out in some of the seedier sections of Paris, where they meet a transvestite (Jennifer Beals) and also Florence (Stéphane Audran), who captures Mikey's heart.

Audience Member A wonderful piece of filmmaking set to a beautiful score. D.H. Lawrence will certainly warrant some reading on my part. Rupert Evans looks a lot like a young Brad Pitt here. I believe this is one of those rare movies that will continue to rise in my esteem the more I see it and think of it. P.S. : D.H. Lawrence would've been proud... P.P.S. : The lovemaking scenes are too intense for our "honourable" Censor Board to even think of giving it a theatrical release in India......
