At no point do you doubt that Singh will make it, nor does one feel awe at how he surmounts colossal physical and mental setbacks. The underdog story is perhaps too underplayed.

In choosing to show the personal side, the professional aspects get short shrift, and that's where the film doesn't score as well. Which is a pity because Dosanjh looks completely at home both off and on the field.

The mainstay of Soorma is, of course, Dosanjh in the titular role. He traverses the span of his character with sheer ease-a charmer as the shy, innocent, bumbling lover and mesmeric as the sportsman.

Soorma doesn't rouse as much as it should. It doesn't stop to feel its own heart beat. It tick-marks all the boxes and explores none. The goalposts are broadened - it drags home the same age-old clichés.

This foreign sports movie was really good. Diljit Dosanjh, Taapsee Pannu, Angad Bedi, and the rest of the cast did a fantastic job in this movie. This true story about the legendary field hockey player Sandeep Singh was dramatic, tragic, and inspirational. It's about never giving up on your dreams even after going through a near death experience. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. It's a must see.

Very well made movie. It’s so good that I don’t watch the 2nd time as I don’t want to live through the pain of Sandeep once more. It was emotional roller coaster..

It's a good movie all the way around except it ended flat. Basically, a love story went bad.I wish the writer handled it little different towards the end. Powerful performance by the lead actor. I think the lead lady acting was a little week or maybe she was not the right choice for the role.
