With the help of their high school's newest teacher (George Lopez), four Hispanic students form a robotics club. Although they have no experience, the youths set their sights on a national robotics contest. With $800 and parts scavenged from old cars, they build a robot and compete against reigning champion MIT. This move does its best to make the source material but fails short. The cast takes a few unknown actors that do their best, but it just doesn't work. Ms. Tomei is extremely underutilized in this movie, she should have been given more to do which would have made this movie better. With all that being said it is still an inspiring story that is worth telling.
