nick s Quite a good effort, especially as it's the first for this director. The acting was fine and the story had a good finale. A bit of a flat patch midway when the show got stuck in one setting, but worth wading through. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review Audience Member Blobbo's thumb-blobs more up than down. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member A tense thriller. Under rated Film Noir one of the best. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review dave j The first of of six movies directed by film veteran Dick Powell which is a combination of "The Petrified Forest" and "Key Largo" using the atom bomb as the backdrop. A notification of deadly convict, Sam Hurley (Stephen McNally) escape but needs to find a doctor for his friend Bart (Paul Kelly) who''s suffering a serious gun shot wound to the stomach. And eventually finds refuge at a ghost town in the Nevada desert holding some people hostage despite everyone already knowing that it is going to be used as a nuclear test site with the stars Larry (Keith Andes) and nightclub singer, Dottie (Jan Sterling) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Slow but entertaining. The moral is: Bring a map, leave early, don't get stuck Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Solid little thriller from Dick Powell in the directorial debut. Stephen McNally plays an escaped prisoner who takes several varied people hostage and then carts them off to a Nevada nuclear test site just hours before a bomb is set to be tested. It's kind of a gonzo story set up and it's actually pretty suspenseful at times, even if it seems a bit goofy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
