THIS HAS AN 80. THAT MAKES ME HAPPY. This movie is not perfect and may parts of it did not age well. But gosh darn it, its so frickin silly cute. It makes me cry, it makes me laugh, and it makes me wanna give Spud a big ol' hug.

It's like American Pie, except more wholesome and dramatic, and set in South Africa at the very end of Apartheid for some reason. It's quite charming, a bit pretentious, and a bit more cheesy and intense than it needs to be. But for all its silliness, its goofiness makes it shine a little bit. It's unique, for better or worse.
