Chris M Harriet the Spy was more of spy movie. HELL Agent Cody Banks was more of a spy movie. This is less James Bond Jr and more the Boy Who Cried Wolf. Plus horrible characters, stuck in a tar pit pacing. Plus the kid lies so often, you'd think he was running for congress. This is a rejected "Boy Meets World" episode stretched to around 90 minutes. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review victor o I saw this because it was recommended to me by a streaming service. I enjoy watching AnnaSophia Robb and decided to check it out. I half expected this to be like other movies with kids in espionage like Spy Kids or Agent Cody Banks. It's about Thomas, an awkward, dishonest boy that craves attention. But things come ahead when he realizes that in his quest to mess around with authority ends up on the receiving end of a giant mess. His school is hosting a special event for the First Daughter, only someone in charge is a traitor hoping to kidnap the girl. So, he is caught up in the middle of something big that would ordinarily scare a young kid his age, but Thomas is no ordinary boy and he is determined to make his mark and save the day. Not a bad movie, but not a great movie. The other movies I mentioned were better by far than this one, but it's not entirely without charm. This isn't Forrest Landis' first rodeo as he has done a wonderful job as a child star, though sadly this was his final one as a charming young boy with a heart set on adventure. AnnaSophia Robb was sweet as the loyal tomboy friend with her heart set on getting her friend to notice her as a girl instead of being her friend. Rider Strong was decent, continuing to be welcome with family-friendly craft. All these performers and more made a halfway decent movie for families. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member It mocks superior films, uses the inverse of logic to shove its pretentious acceptance message. Which is entirely missplaced, as the main character is entirely unlikeable, doesnt learn anything, and on top of that actually CAUSES, the kidnapping of the presidents daughter, Not Solve it . in fact his actions nearly get her killed, and then, out of the blue, he is declared a hero, because the movie says so. Also, this is a film which includes the line "Its not what you do, But who you are inside, that defines you." Batman Begins fans may now throw their stones. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member live action films for children starring children tend to be very poor in the writing, and acting departments, and "spy school" is no different. it's pretty lame. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Not very good but will entertain little kids.
