Jacob Knight Birth.Movies.Death. The Stakelander is slightly repetitive and may not completely stack up to the first’s modest charms, but is definitely worth spending another eighty quick minutes with. Oct 5, 2022 Full Review Kat Hughes THN It's always nice catching up with old friends -- but it just feels a little disappointing. Some parts fall flat and the tension is missing. Rated: 2/5 Aug 29, 2018 Full Review Kim Newman Electric Sheep Though it takes a while for the plot to cohere, the storyline offers plenty of action. Aug 16, 2017 Full Review Scott Clark Starburst Berk and Olsen are fine stand-ins for Mickle, but without Damici, The Stakelander would be a tough sell. It's not a step up, more of a step-to-the-side, with great supporting performances (A.C. Peterson and Steven Williams in particular) and good action Rated: 7/10 Mar 3, 2017 Full Review Scott Weinberg Nerdist If you dug the first flick enough to consider a second chapter a welcome diversion, then odds are you'll find something to like here. Craig B Also known as 'Stakekand II', whilst not quite up to the standard of the first film, it's a reasonable enough watch for horror-action fans. Like it's predecessor, The Stakelander is underpinned by relatable characters who you actually care about. Some decent action scenes and recycled butt ugly vamps (and familiar plot lines) make for an enjoyable enough film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/19/24 Full Review Christian C Probably as good as, if not, better than the original. It definitely didn’t try to up the ante like so many bad sequels do and instead just continued with the natural progression of the story. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/03/24 Full Review Audience Member Was a good enough sequel to the first but still pales in comparison. I like how they brought back characters and kept the same atmosphere. However its lacking the emotion and connection to characters we had in the first movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Not as good as the first one, but only because the first was a new, fresh idea. Still a great movie, but some how was looked over and forgotten, as it lives in the shadow of the first film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Here's my review for the original: "Sorry, critics. This movie has a good story, a good script, a good director, good actors, and it's all-around fun to watch. I didn't have high hopes for it. Almost didn't bother. Glad I did. You can pick it apart if you want, but if you just want to enjoy a flick, this one's great. I watched it twice." Here's my review for the sequel: "Sorry, critics. This movie has a good story, a good script, a good director, good actors, and it's all-around fun to watch. I didn't have high hopes for it. Almost didn't bother. Glad I did. You can pick it apart if you want, but if you just want to enjoy a flick, this one's great. I'm going to watch it again." Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member If you liked the first one, you will like the second one. Thought it was pretty good myself.
