John Hall (David Andrews) is a drifter who wanders into a small town in Maine. He needs a job and decides to seek employment at the community's top business: a large textile mill. He is hired to work the "graveyard shift" -- from around midnight to dawn -- and, along with a few others, he is charged with cleaning out the basement. Dallas H Brad Dourif is an absolute scene-stealer in this movie. He showed up on set and chewed the scenery! Overall, the story is simplistic and relatively easy to follow. Of course, it wouldn't be a proper Stephen King story if there isn't a flair of something supernatural or absurd blended into the horror factor. I can't hardline this movie as my favorite King adaptation, but I still enjoyed watching it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/04/24 Full Review Mj B I really can't say much about this film. I tought it was okay for a low budget B movie. Not bad not good just okay that's why I give it 3/5 wich I think it's fair. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/28/24 Full Review Christian K Only Brad Dourif's performance, which can be classified as some kind of bright spot of film, warrants one whole star instead of half. One of the worst Stephen King adaptations ever! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/14/24 Full Review Howard H Falls flat on its knees in regard to character development. Story has its interesting moments. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/24 Full Review GPhonse257 A hidden gem, in the Stephen King movies lineup. The actors that played as the cotton mill workers, clearly portrayed their strife in this movie. The creature at the end, when it fully revealed itself, is a magnificent design of a carnivorous giant rat/bat creature. The idea that something like that could be lirking in the maze of a basement, in a cotton mill that you work at...is terrifying! Most people probably would not survive that experience, to get their worker's comp. I only wish that, the love interest of the main character had survived with him at the end. Great horror movie. I'm still in awe, everytime i catch this movie on tv. And you can't really go wrong, with a movie that has Brad Dourif in it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/16/23 Full Review Montgomery M It doesn't really feel like a Stephen king movie in tone for some reason... Just not good.
