I suppose the best one can say about Graveyard Shift is that it’s superior to 1995’s truly abysmal The Mangler, another movie based on a Stephen King short story and involving a monster munching mortals among mill machinery.

This movie is great! I did not fully appreciate it when I first recorded it on VHS in the 90s, but every time I come back to it, I enjoy it more. It is impossible to take seriously and if you just want a fun monster film this one fits the bill

If I could give anything individual actor and star rating I'd give Brad Dourif 5 stars. This movie is fun but poorly executed and needed alot more Brad Dourif.

Brad Dourif is an absolute scene-stealer in this movie. He showed up on set and chewed the scenery! Overall, the story is simplistic and relatively easy to follow. Of course, it wouldn't be a proper Stephen King story if there isn't a flair of something supernatural or absurd blended into the horror factor. I can't hardline this movie as my favorite King adaptation, but I still enjoyed watching it.
