03/27/2020 No aspect of this film was done well. Without exaggeration, I can say that nothing happened in this film until about the last 10 minutes. Until then, it was basically an exposition-fest, like someone decided to roll tape as character after character read an audio-book, poorly. See more 12/01/2011 An early example of a found-footage supernatural horror film, Strawberry Estates was technically released before the more (deservedly) famous Blair Witch Project, but Blair Witch was already being shot and publicized when Strawberry Estates went into production as a deliberate attempt to cash in on what was supposed to be the new face of horror. Strawberry Estates fails in every way that Blair Witch proceeds: terribly fake and scripted performances, edits that undermine the found footage aesthetic, etc. turn this into a boring and even annoying attempt to capitalize on the cleverness of others. Would get top marks but some of the acting is OTT in places (the Prof) and t-shirts kinda spoils things (watch film and you'll understand). But great story, very original idea.
