Synopsis
A documentary about both the steel industry and racism, this film sheds light on the difficulties faced by African-Americans working within the trade. The production includes interviews with dozens of steel workers, and is narrated by co-director Ray Henderson, a veteran of the steel industry. Featuring archival photographs and film footage, the movie details the history of black people working in steel mills and depicts their dealings with prejudice and injustice while on the job.
