Globe and Mail Rated: 3/4 Apr 25, 2003 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times [Such a Long Journey] is a film so rich in atmosphere it makes Western films look pale and underpopulated. It combines politics, religion, illness and scheming in the story of one family in upheaval, and is very serious and always amusing. Audience Member Such a Long Journey is an excellent character study with more than enough of a story line to keep the plot-oriented viewer involved. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member "Midnight's Children" has nothing on this movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Roshan Seth of "Gandhi" fame is brilliantly cast in this remarkable film from Sturla Gunnarson. The pathos of the film was of a unique and rare vintage. I was completely entranced from beginning to end. Sturla Gunnarson is THE voice of Canadian cinema. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member The sound quality and photography alone are worth seeing. The scene at the city train station is breathtaking. I am so impressed with the attention to detail and the quality of the acting. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Yes - Mola Ram's side hand man from"Temple of Doom" has his own movie...and it's very stirring and beautiful Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the only novels that has made a great movie Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews
