Audience Member I went with a friend this weekend to Bindle and Keep while we were in New York City. She made reservations to get fitted for a custom suit while we were there to see Hello Dolly and I had no idea what this particular place was all about. She's fairly androgynous and lesbian identified, but I am gender non-binary and a therapist that has been working with transgender folks for 19 years. So I was blown away by the experience of going there and the way we were treated. So I promptly started googling only to find out about their focus on serving the trans community and about his movie. So in between sessions, still jetlagged since our plane didn't get home till 2 AM last night, I have been blown away by this movie! It's such a tearjerker, so inspiring and makes me want to turn right back around to go get my own rock 'n' roll suit! The individual stories are ones that I hear and see and frankly feel on a day-to-day basis but the filmmaker did a great job at making this a fresh engaging way to go inside the lives of these brave folks who are struggling to just find a way to be present and at last feel good enough to take a risk with the mirror. Bravo/a!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Superenpowering to watch how people fight throuh adversity and the importance of feeling seen and beautiful! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member This explained more to me than any article I've read about the Trans experience. I've never felt uncomfortable with the gender I was born with and, therefore, it was hard for me to understand. This little gem of a documentary is well worth watching. It would have been nice to hear from the seamstress. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

David Wiegand San Francisco Chronicle It will take more than an informative and engaging documentary on a pair of custom tailors to prevent another Orlando, but Suited makes a valuable contribution to understanding what it means to be transgender in the U.S. in 2016. Rated: 3/4 Jun 20, 2016 Full Review Verne Gay Newsday Often moving film about transgender identity - almost nothing about fashion. Rated: B+ Jun 17, 2016 Full Review Guy Lodge Variety Slickly upbeat as it guides six contrasting clients through the measuring and fitting process, frosh helmer Benjamin's film nonetheless gleans enough pointed personal testimonies along the way to add human weight to its makeover-TV format. Feb 9, 2016 Full Review Nora Lee Mandel Maven's Nest The uplifting triumph is the looks and smiles on their faces when they finally see their reflection in the mirror match how they feel inside and how they've wanted to look.
