Ola G The film is based on the actual 1992 UEFA European Football Championship, Denmark's greatest ever football triumph. The team had qualified only after Yugoslavia was disqualified as a result of the breakup and warfare in that country. The film examines the often difficult relationship between the team's coach Richard Møller Nielsen, and the Danish Football Association and leading players that nonetheless led to triumph in 1992. (Via Wikipedia) As I have pointed out many times before, I am not all that excited about biopics, and this is no exception. The film itself becomes a bit silly when actors are supposed to play real persons and in this case footballers with wigs and fake moustaches as in other biopics. We get film sequences intertwined with real football footage from the 1992 UEFA European Football Championship games which is fine I guess, but also a bit wobbly."Summer of '92" is ok as a film, but the highlight with this is of course Denmark's real underdog journey to winning this championship back in 1992. I would recommend to see a documentary about this instead of the film. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/06/25 Full Review Read all reviews
