The climbing sequences are genuinely exhilarating: in monumental drone shots homing in on minuscule figures on rock faces and in blow-by-blow crag-side set pieces that demonstrate the film-makers know whereof they speak.

A different type of mountain movie. It's everything wrong and right with today's world - utter selfishness, craving fame and yet with raw humanity underneath it.

The incredible cinematography saves the film. But the acting is mediocre at best and the plot is so plodding you won't even blink when the first climber (predictably) falls. I'd rather watch the old movie Cliff Hangar again. Much better.
