It’s an intense, often unpleasant narrative, though one not without empathy, hope, or humor, and is highly recommended. Go to Full Review

Torben E @Torben 1d This is a great movie with amazing actors and it catches life in the deprived areas of Berlin in the early 2000s brilliantly. It's also a coming-of-age film and while being very brutal and bleak, there's a glimmer of hope in the end. A fair warning: it makes no sense watching a dubbed version of this movie; I guess that the omnipresent slang and therefore the whole feel for the early 2000s in major German cities would get lost. And: for some viewers the (youth) violence and depictions of social decline and domestic violence might be too much. In my opinion this film can hold its ground next to a masterpiece like "Absolute Giganten" (English: "Gigantic") (1999) while being a bit more unrefined and drearier. See more Read all reviews
