This documentary portrait by Mike Myers (of Wayne's World and Austen Powers fame) of his friend Shep Gordon comes close to hagiography but is just about saved by great anecdotes, stylistic inventiveness and the low-key charm of the man himself.

Il est toujours étrange de voir un documentaire sur une personne encore vivante aussi positif, constamment et inlassablement. Mais force est de constater que Shep Gordon mérite tout à fait son titre de Supermensch et ce documentaire lui rend parfaitement hommage, le laissant répondre quand un Mike Myers ou un Sylvester Stallone lui prêtent des histoires abracadabrantes. Supermensch réussit parfaitement son but, celui de présenter un type qu'on aimerait tous connaître et qui semble être un mec en or. Alors qu'importe la vérité dans l'histoire, quand bien même le fait que nous sommes devant un documentaire, tant que le moment passé est sympathique.

I must admit I didn't know much about Shep Gordon until I listed to an Art of Charm podcast recently. It's amazing how many different experiences he had. Now I'm trying to catch up :)
