Nathanael Hood The Retro Set A big fat goose egg. Rated: 3/10 Jun 23, 2020 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Combustible Celluloid The entire thing, running only 65 minutes, is berserk, and makes very little sense, but it's brisk and jaw-dropping enough to be worth seeing. It does make one wish she had done a few more horror films to round out her oeuvre. Steve D A strange mix of over and under acting only Lombard is immune. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Love the words of warning! Montage with hands strangling, laughter and crazed v/o. Eyes in the dark! Top start! And top medical gobbledy-gook! Dodgy spiritualists, venal land-ladies, poison rings; wonderful atmosphere of dread and heightened emotions - created through sound and subtle touches and framing as much as the usual tricks. I like Lombard playing so against type - just a shame the plot's so bloody complicated in so little time. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review kevin w Carole Lombard highlights this very light horror outing as a executed woman murderer comes back to inhabit the body of an innocent society girl. Randolph scott simply stands nearby and is supportive. Alan Dinehart impresses as the malevolent focus. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Outrageously melodramatic opening credits set the stage for a fun, though flawed, tale of spiritual possession and occult charlatanism. If you're tolerant of some heavy-handed storytelling and a bit of spiritualistic nonsense, there's plenty of fun to be had in this film.
