Being an older, male, lap swimming film fan, I connected with several characters and enjoyed the effort. I felt more character development would have helped.

A weekend film you can enjoy fairly brainlessly - it's basically an aquatic Full Monty. Good cast and Brydon plays the deadened corporate slave extremely well. 2.5*

This movie is so cute. I’ve seen it multiple times, and each time is heartwarming and entertaining and touching. I’ve come to really appreciate these British movies that are about real human beings and feel set in the real world. This movie is proof that you don’t need a huge budget or fancy CGI to make something meaningful. Brings big budget movies to shame. Fast and furious fans should stay away from this movie and from rating it as well. No car chases or inexplicable human strength necessary to create a story that sticks with you.
