Bob Thomas Associated Press Good acting, convincing backgrounds and much action help to offset the cloudy politics. ashley h Sword in the Desert is a decent film. It is about an American freighter captain smuggles European Jewish refugees ashore in British-administered Palestine in 1947. Dana Andrews and Marta Toren give good performances. The script is a little slow in places. George Sherman did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the action and drama. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
