Danny King Village Voice A work of gentle whimsy and surprising pathos, Sylvio proposes a buddy-comedy scenario involving a most unlikely screen pair. Oct 12, 2017 Full Review Nick Schager Variety This charming lo-fi indie from actor-director Kentucker Audley and director Albert Birney is attuned to its own eccentric wavelength, equal parts absurd and poignant. Oct 11, 2017 Full Review Greg Cwik Slant Magazine Sylvio's banal depictions of everyday loneliness through the diurnal tedium of an anthropomorphic animal brings to mind BoJack Horseman, but without the caustic navel-gazing and self-destruction or the mordant pop-culture musings. Rated: 2/4 Oct 10, 2017 Full Review Nathan Mattise Ars Technica Sylvio shows both the platform's peculiar and pleasurable influences will continue to surface... Jul 28, 2021 Full Review CJ Sheu Review Film Review Sylvio ends up being a heartfelt, meditative, offbeat, unpredictable, attentive, and drop-dead hilarious film. Jul 1, 2020 Full Review Danielle Solzman Solzy at the Movies Sylvio is perhaps the most absurd buddy comedy that's ever been made. Nov 27, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Rodrigo A Sylvio is what happens when a director decides to simply shoot a film from the heart without thinking much of the consequences. A fresh, non pretentious, heartwarming piece of comedy that isnt afraid of being unconventional. Loved every minute of it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/12/24 Full Review Audience Member i mean... as far as artsy, make-a-statement films go, it's good. but as far as an entertaining movie, it's not. i'm not going to watch it again & i don't think i'd recommend it to anyone else either. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Usually the weirder with me the better . This just didn’t have an interesting enough back story to reel me in 2.1 Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/08/20 Full Review nefasto r After loving "Frank" so much, I am doomed to watch every movie with people under a simple mask. I loved "Brigsby Bear" too, but no luck with this indi and lo-fi comedy-drama. It last only one hour and twenty minutes and it felt endless. There is no much story there and there is no real laugh. I have to admit that the ending is cute (not amazingly good, just cute) but wasn't enough to save the movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Strangly easy to connect with. I think that's the simple geniUs of this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
