Tom Shales Washington Post Taking Chance gives us all the opportunity to render honor. Oct 16, 2017 Full Review Brian Holcomb Slant Magazine Lazy filmmaking that fails to engage anyone who doesn't have a personal connection to the story. It's so well-meaning that it ultimately means nothing much at all. Rated: 2/4 Feb 15, 2009 Full Review David Cornelius DVDTalk.com A film of overwhelming emotional power. Rated: 5/5 Jul 2, 2009 Full Review Jason McKiernan Filmcritic.com This is a film about respect and dignity, both in death and in life. And we hope that we may be treated with the same level of careful attention. Thom M You do not have to have a personal experience for this film to understand it. From the Lt. Col. inner turmoil about not going back, to Chance's Friend having survivor guilt, to his father laying his Veitnam medals down, each of these acts tells the inner story of men who survived and came home wondering why. The experience of the civilians from the rude TSA agent to the Capt. of the plane shows how much or little this country respects the fallen. To just prove the importance of the Lt. Col. look at where he is seated on the flight home. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/25 Full Review Daniel A. J Great homage to fallen heroes. A good Memorial Day watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/14/25 Full Review Alan M Saw clips of this movie on YouTube. Watched it and was a lovely heart touching movie . Respect and honour to all military service people . Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/25 Full Review Craig O As a Marine, who fought in the Vietnam war, I found this movie heart wrenching. It shows the due respect given our heroes who gave it their all for this country. Kevin Bacon gave a masterful performance as did all the cast. Many parts, of the movie, ripped my heart out. Thank you for showing the side of war many don't even think about. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/25 Full Review Debi M Fantastic movie. Very well done. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/25 Full Review Graham B I am a former soldier of the British Army 1976 - 2000. This is a thoughtful film, depicting the process of reparation while trying to give an insight to the feelings of loss. Kevin Bacon as usual gave a masterful performance, as did all of the supporting cast. Stars of recommendation mean little for such a film. Just watch it and reflect on the time old words……. All gave some, some gave all. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/25 Full Review Read all reviews
