Tom Shales Washington Post Taking Chance gives us all the opportunity to render honor. Oct 16, 2017 Full Review Brian Holcomb Slant Magazine Lazy filmmaking that fails to engage anyone who doesn't have a personal connection to the story. It's so well-meaning that it ultimately means nothing much at all. Rated: 2/4 Feb 15, 2009 Full Review David Cornelius DVDTalk.com A film of overwhelming emotional power. Rated: 5/5 Jul 2, 2009 Full Review Jason McKiernan Filmcritic.com This is a film about respect and dignity, both in death and in life. And we hope that we may be treated with the same level of careful attention. Lester m This is an underrated actor in an underrated movie. Kevin does a good job here in a meaningful movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/12/25 Full Review William V I cried at nearly every scene. The critics who give this less than a 95% missed the point and are inept. It's not 'Gone With the Wind' but the story and the way it's told is told 100% better. Very well done. For f sake. Even the VFW hall scenes are perfect. What is wrong with the critics giving this some sort of 57% rating. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/12/25 Full Review Stephen C Success in 1 hour and 18 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All ages admitted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/23/25 Full Review Matt B This is a slow but emotionally full film. One of the best movies i've seen in a long time. Kevin Bacon did an excellent job. Everyone did. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/14/25 Full Review YT feels like N You don't have to be in the military or from a military family to understand or feel the emotional magnitude of this movie. Me, personally? I got chocked up all the way through Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/14/25 Full Review Med T This is not a feel good movie, it's not an action movie. It's an accurate and real depiction of the cost of war. We send our sons to fight and die and not many films cover their journey home. This movie does an excellent job showing the very emotional process of grieving for a sevicemember killed in combat. I recommend everyone sees it. It's either eye opening or a solem reminder to the cost of war. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/03/25 Full Review Read all reviews
