David W With very few exceptions such as James Cameron, it's rarely a good sign when the credits show the same person listed as writer, producer and director and so it proves here with Jerry Warren's disasterpiece, Teenage Zombies. Essentially, there are some horse and water skiing obsessed teenagers who find themselves imprisoned on a small island by a deranged female scientist and her cohorts who seem to be plotting an attack on America using gas pellets to subdue the population... Then there's some other teens trying to find them, some local cops and errm, well that's kind of it really. No actual zombies just a bloke in a trench coat called Ivan who's been put under the 'scientists' control and a bloke in a gorilla suit. It's actually mildly entertaining bad and would be perfect fodder for the likes of Rifftraks to take the proverbial out of. The three stars are purely because I love bad black and white drive in movies from this era. If you don't then adjust to a generous one star as the plot, acting, direction, dialogue etc are all terrible. Daft, naive and harmless fun from an era where a bloke in an unconvincing gorilla suit was a scary special effect. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Uber cheap teen horror film makes a Samuel Z. Arkoff production look like something by Samuel Goldwyn. And oddly enough, there are no teenage zombies. The story is instead about a group of teenagers being captured after snooping around an evil scientist's private island, who are then experimented on by the scientists. Pretty bad Z-grade stuff. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Some kids go water skiing and decide to picnic on an abandoned island. Only it isn't abandoned. A scientist is busy creating zombie slaves for communist agents. She grabs the kids to be the subjects of further experiments. This is not a good movie. The acting is just terrible and little of it makes much sense. It does have zombie gorillas and teenage girls in shorts, so there's that going for it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member one of the worst ever Plan 9 and Robot Monster are superior to this Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review don s These old horror movies are always a hit or miss proposition. Sometimes they can be fun; this isn't one of those. The characters all act as if the don't have an ounce of brains in their heads. There is only one zombie in the movie, and his "special effect" to show he is a zombie is to roll his eyes upward into his head. Awful, wooden acting and no campy fun. Terrible. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Slow moving plot, uninteresting characters, and horrible excuses for zombies. The story starts nowhere and doesn't really end anywhere. There's a lot of confusing moments. The editing is choppy and the dialog is awful. Probably one of the worse Pre-Romero zombie movies I've seen.
