Texas Killing Fields is a competent boilerplate crime thriller, brewing up characters and plots used in better films.

Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online ... Texas Killing Fields is a must-see. Rated: A- Sep 8, 2017 Full Review Brian Tallerico HollywoodChicago.com A procedural without structure. It's a mood piece with no definable mood. It's a thriller without clear villains or even threats. Rated: 2.0/5.0 Oct 21, 2011 Full Review Lana Berkowitz Houston Chronicle The characters will be familiar to fans of police procedural shows and TV movies. Rated: 2/5 Oct 21, 2011 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews A downbeat but atmospheric police-procedural thriller, that works in parts but not as a whole because of serious plot holes making it incoherent. Rated: B- May 28, 2017 Full Review Will Leitch Deadspin The film doesn't really go anywhere or establish any narrative sense, which is problem, since it's ostensibly a police procedural. Rated: D+ Jun 23, 2013 Full Review Michelle Alexandria Eclipse Magazine I know many people don't like Sam Worthington and I'm one of them. Worthington is trying to prove that he's not the one-dimensional actor that we all think he is. Rated: B Apr 22, 2012 Full Review Read all reviews

Sherri C A TRUE GEM!! You actually feel what each character feels, in the different relationships, in every situation. I watch this movie 2 to 3 times a month! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/25 Full Review Mike O I think the critics and audience reviews of this film are too harsh, The director set the mood with the pacing and atmosphere of the crappy Texas town, and the acting was terrific. Morgan is outstanding - he conveys the personal pain the killings cause him, having failed to stop a killer once before. Worthington is square-jawed as always, and his cop is a local boy who knows just how degenerate and disgusting this part of Texas can be, SPOILER ALERT ! The plot was straight forward - we are supposed to believe the orange-haired weird dude killed everyone (presaging another orange-haired villain the media loves to blame). Predictably, he’s just a garden variety psycho killer, not a serial killer and rapist of defenseless women. Even though I knew what was coming, it was still tense and effective. The cast is outstanding - really all stars, and the director if Miami Vice’s Michael Manns daughter. She got Daddy’s skills with car chases for sure. Moretz is as always amazing. She really does look like a tiny Pre-Raphaelite angel. An engrossing late-night watch that hooked me and kept me up til 3. Not a waste of time. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/04/24 Full Review Scott W Not a good movie . Was hoping for better . But the last 30 minutes saves it. I suppose Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/06/24 Full Review Kyle J I had trouble understanding whom the cops were after and why. I thought it would all come together by the end. I guess it did in one way. The acting was good, especially Little Ann. I did not understand the fate of one bad guy. I don't understand the cop/wife's role. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/24 Full Review Chris J Great story. I think they missed the mark on action, needed a little more. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/13/23 Full Review jwcdood Not the best in several ways, but well cast and well acted. Although quite a few others didn't, I found TEXAS KILLING FIELDS engaging and worth the watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
