Audience Member Entertaining Warren William vehicle with none of the characters matching, in any way, their later portrayals in the tv Perry Mason series starring Raymond Burr. Think Nick & Nora Charles lite. If you're unfamiliar with William it might take a few viewings of his films to get past his sleazy aura but once you do he can become an entertaining actor. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Entertaining in spots; you wouldn't get this portrayal of Perry Mason from Raymond Burr! The clues arise from some rather unorthodox if not downright implausible sleuthing or straight out of thin air. The whole thing is a muddle but its contemporary audience probably didn't much care about the details. Skip this one if there's something more promising available. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review joe m Sturdy old Perry Mason flick that crackles almost as good as Powell-Loy in the Thin Man series. Fast and smart, bearing little resemblance to the TV show. William gives a sharp performance. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member plot wise, it follows the book fairly well. character wise, huh? who are these people. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Quirky entry in the Perry Mason series. More emphasis on Mason's excentricities (cooking obsession), and unusual technique of dissolve cuts throughout adds to the visual interest. All in all a descent mystery story, if slightly less wild (but easier to follow) the "The Howling Dog." Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
