Attorney Perry Mason (Warren William) agrees to help Rhoda Montaine (Margaret Lindsay), who suspects that her first husband, Greg Moxley (Errol Flynn), is still alive, though he's been declared dead. Perry unearths Moxley's grave and finds a statue in the casket -- and when he arrives at Moxley's last known address, he discovers him recently murdered. After Perry shields Rhoda from being accused of the crime, he begins to suspect that Moxley's previous marriage had a bearing on his murder.
