william s There have been alot of good horror movies the last few years from Asia......this dud is not even remotely close to being one of them. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member at least the director had fun. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member This multi-lingual horror is based on an intriguing Thai custom of lying in a coffin to rid oneself of bad luck. Cancer-stricken Sue (Karen Mok) makes a miraculous recovery after doing so suffers hallucinations and her fiance is then killed in an accident... her investigation leads her to Chris (Ananda Everingham) who was also haunted after a coffin session. It's a neat premise for a film hampered by a disjointed narrative - the horror elements ramped up in the latter stages of the production, apparently - and whilst Ekachai is a solid director he does spoil things by doing a Pride And Glory; all blue, all the time. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting concept, a bit creepy. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member It wasn't that bad. Not really scary, but more sad. Its okay for a one time watch. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member First Thai movie I've watched. Silly by putting yourself in a coffin and live a different life. But there's a story in the movie that you will learn in the end that. Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com It contains enough of Uekrongtham's mastery of emotionally resonant horror that fans of Asian horror will likely consider this a film to be seen. Rated: 2.5/4.0 Sep 5, 2020 Full Review Ard Vijn ScreenAnarchy "The Coffin" in its current form is... a flawed piece. Jan 17, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews
