James W A movie that tackles the hopeful possibilities that 1970s Northeast England was promised, which proved to be empty. Ideas of phony middle class folks' self-identification as being part of the working class drips throughout. There is the sense of being and happiness not fully understood by those who only care about materialistc things, leading to Bob's crisis. Nobody's a hero and nobody's a villain, but everyone's not hearing each other and unaware of the empty reality around them. This movie is a very funny way of doing such concepts, while not preaching. Very much worth a watch if you just silliness and not think too much about, or want concepts to consider while being entertained.
