Ken Hanke Mountain Xpress (Asheville, NC) Fast, funny and a little shocking in its pre-code drug references and gay jokes. Rated: 4/5 Jul 12, 2012 Full Review Read all reviews

Steve D Still quite amusing. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/07/23 Full Review Audience Member One of Edward G. Robinson's gangster comedies, and a neat look at a fox outfoxing other foxes. An overlooked little gem from Warner Bros. classic run of 30's crime films. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny! It had me looking forward to the ending. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a great film that I enjoyed from start to finish. I'm sure all of you guys will too. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Beer baron 'Bugs' Ahearn (Edward G. Robinson) decides to cash out and go straight as Prohibition ends. Unfortunately, he discovers high society can be just as treacherous than the mob - if you don't have any experience with it! Cartoonish, predictable, but quite funny and surprisingly sweet. Robinson shows there's more to him than tough-guy posturing as he gets laughs and (more than handily) earns our sympathy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member An enjoyable pre-code gangster comedy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Read all reviews
