Glenn Kenny RogerEbert.com My problem, finally, and this is something I rarely actually complain about, was that I didn't care. Rated: 2/4 Aug 1, 2014 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times "The Almost Man" may be slight, but how many films can pack equal amounts of emotional nuance and inappropriately sprayed urine into just 75 minutes? Jul 31, 2014 Full Review Alissa Simon Variety A slender but polished dramedy. Jul 30, 2014 Full Review Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com Lund's film is peppered with moments of simple delight. Aug 30, 2019 Full Review Josh Goller Spectrum Culture The Almost Man is only almost interesting. Rated: 2.5/5 Jul 18, 2019 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru An engaging character study that effectively skirts the fine line between comedy and tragedy, but the ending feels rather glib. Audience Member Grow up Henrik. Same goes for everything about this film. Had a very adolescent feeling in it's writing and directing. But it certainly had some funny moments that I appreciated. And the relationship between Henrik and his wife was rather touching. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member A film with some potential and it varies from pretty good to pretty bad. It's mostly funny, but I see it as a drama. The couple we meet here have some humor together that is pretty unique and creates a somewhat great chemistry, but there is some darker undertones here. After a while the entire movie often gives me an unpleasant feeling. I'm not sure if it is a good feature or not, but something gets me. For me, in my age, it feels relateable - a quite sad thing at times. Some memorable stuff, mostly flatened stuff that will go by easily. Darn stupid actions from the lead guy kills it a bit and he is in general a very unsympathic and awkward dude it seems. That's not fitting here. 5 of 10 boogers.
