Audience Member We're scandalous misfits. Tom Sawyer lives in a poor town along the Mississippi where he goes to school and chases his imagination. One day he and Huck decide to make people appreciate them by running away to an island. Initially they pretend to be pirates until they whiteness a heinous murder where the wrong man is accused for the crime. Tom and Huck will need to be heroes if they hope to reveal the truth behind the crime. "I can't get one nice word out my pop. All I get is a slap in the head." William R. Kowalchuck, director of Stellaluna, Camelot: The Legend, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer: The Movie (1998), and In Search of Santa, delivers The Animated Adventures of Tom Sawyer. The storyline for this picture was fun and the plot unfolds well. The animation is two dimensional and nothing special but not terrible. "Feed them to the sharks!" I came across this picture on Netflix and thought it would be interesting. I always enjoyed the Tom Sawyer tales as a kid and thought this would bring back memories...it did. This is well done and a nice blend of a coming of age tale with dark roots into American History. I recommend giving this a viewing with your children. "We could just disappear off the face of the Earth!" Grade: C+ Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member This cartoon was a bore. It didn't follow the "Tom Sawyer" book very well. The musical numbers were oddly placed, didn't make any sense, and lacked any entertainment value. There was no real storyline or plot to the whole movie, it was more like they took random pages out of Tom Sawyers diary. I had a real hard time caring about anything in this movie. I didn't care about any characters or even about the non existing story. I could only watch this movine in like 10-15 minute intervals. It was a complete waste of time.
