B_Sian Nadao S the graphics are too bad to enjoy, many stiff scenes and stingy production make the movie not optimal. the storyline is predictable from the beginning, the plot is okay, not bad but far from good. the soundtrack is not creative, one of the soundtracks is what we usually hear in yt videos. the acting is ordinary apart from the father. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/12/24 Full Review Lucas B Incredible movie for anyone interested in Norwegian folklore. Really beautiful cinematography. The story and characters are simple and easy to follow. The English dub is pretty good. If you are at all interested in fairy tales you definitely have to check this one out. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/24 Full Review Audience Member I love this movie! It has a great story and the actors are amazing. Love the norwegian language too. Very entertaining and funny movie! Cheers from Denmark🇩🇰 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member This sweet Norwegian faerie tale is well worth a viewing and a welcome break from the maelstrom of CGI comic book films putting profit over story. Kristin is a princess approaching her 18th birthday who must be married before then or awaken a giant troll called the Mountain King. Her main suitor is the self-involved liar and prince of Denmark, who seeks marriage to gain Kristin's kingdom. Kristin flees and runs into Espen, a daydreaming, good-hearted farm boy, and sparks fly. Espen accidentally burns down the family home gaining the name Ash Lad. Hearing of the Princess's disappearance and motivated by the reward to restore the house, he and his two brothers embark on a journey to rescue Kristin. Meanwhile the Danish Prince and his henchmen are also seeking her for less noble reasons. The scenery is magnificent as the journey introduces episodes with various mythical creatures, while Espen picks up things he finds for future use as the story unfolds. The sly Norwegian humour lightens scenes between the frantic scenes of confrontation between the brothers, the prince's party and the troll. I don't know if there is a dubbed version, although the dialogue is fairly basic and older children should have not difficulty reading. This is a light entertaining film devoid of the pomposity of false meaning that the American corporations belch out. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
