Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Good acting and athletic direction let you forgive that none of this story is pippin’ hot fresh out of the oven. Sometimes you just want straightforward comfort food, and that’s what you’ll get along with a game Perlman. Rated: 3/4 Aug 2, 2023 Full Review MontiLee Stormer MovieReelist.com Ron Perlman and Emma Ho give the best they can with what they’re working with. This is not an acting issue, but without a story or direction as filler, it’s not enough to fill the screen with meaningful stares and monosyllabic grunts. Rated: 1/5 Sep 23, 2023 Full Review Michael A. Smith MediaMikes As summer winds down, and you are overwhelmed by all of the “Barbieheimer” social media posts, I recommend taking the time to seek out “The Baker.” It “rises” to the occasion. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 12, 2023 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media This thoroughly generic action thriller borrows its familiar elements from many sources, but the likable cast help keep things on track with their collective charm and charisma. Rated: 3/5 Aug 5, 2023 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Overcooked and lacking flavor, this derivative vigilante thriller squanders a winning performance by Ron Perlman. Aug 2, 2023 Full Review M.V. Moorhead Less Hat, Moorhead Leading man roles in movies have been rare in Perlman's career, and it's cool to see how effectively he brings this one more gravitas, and more warmth, than it really deserves. Donna C At first I thought this movie was going to be slow., but it turned out to be a very well paced movie. It had action, tension, heart and some laughter. I really liked this movie. I didn’t want it to end. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review sherry It looks more exciting in the preview than it actually is. Don’t waste your money, wait for it on tv or see it on Tuesday when it costs $5.95. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/30/23 Full Review Erich It was a good action packed movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/30/23 Full Review JULIA M Ron Perlman’s and Emma Ho’s acting is fantastic. Great chemistry. Good story, full of action. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/29/23 Full Review Kevin C Ron Perlman plays a good protagonist role. I liked this Action/Drama a lot, suspenseful action scenes and good music score. I gave this a 4 instead of 3.5 because I would definitely watch this movie again. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/04/24 Full Review Martin B Loved it. Ron Perlman and the girl were great. Plenty of gratuitous violence but that's normal for movies these days. The two discovering each other, forming a bond under constant stress was heart warming. Perlman perfectly cast, one of the few that could pull off that roll acting a good deal of the time with his body movements and facial expressions. The girl saying she liked the song so casually a perfect ending. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/24/24 Full Review Read all reviews
