The Bend is one of those rare movies in which the audience knows pretty much what's going to happen over its duration even before its first minute is up and the credits have started to roll. Go to Full Review

07/01/2012 120701: I thought I might gain some interesting insight from this movie. Man, I was wrong. Immature, poorly thinking young people, being irresponsible, committing criminal offences including impaired driving, all under the guise of a study of bipolar disorder, mental health issues. There's nothing to be gleaned here other than we're pretty hormonal when we're in our teens and we think we're wise. The fact is, as teens, we have no understanding of life, we're driven by emotion, and our irrational thinking is further complicated by alcohol consumption. Our parents were ten times more knowledgable than us and rightfully fearful for our safety. I'm not sure how experienced the writer was in regards to mental health disorders but this movie is in no way insightful. See more Read all reviews
