The Binge starts out with the promise of a fun time, but gets sloppy on bottom-shelf humor and stumbles face down into the gutter.

James F It's a witty comedy that has its funny moments but story wise it's a huge letdown. Started out incredible. Interesting ‘Purge' like inspired content that hadn't been done before in comedy. But sometime around the Mushroom Trip it becomes very dull. If you are okay with GOOD/BAD comedies this is probably for you. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/28/24 Full Review Michael C Audience score says it all. It's a fun movie with a lot of memorable moments. One in particular I'll quote for the remainder of my days. It's a coming of age comedy. While clearly not as good, I'd put it in the vein of super bad and youth in revolt. Not sure why critics expected this movie to rival avengers endgame for some reason. They just gotta suck it down pipe, and they'll be happy for it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/26/24 Full Review Eddie M Genuinely cringed morr at the stupidity that laughed at anything. Nothing really makes any sense to the degree it's not entertaining anymore. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/16/23 Full Review the a One of my favorite comfort comedys its nothing tasteful or fancy its the movie equivalent of that local hole in wall take-out place you love but its well worth seeing if your a fan of wacky crude comedys like say harold and comar Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/04/23 Full Review Lola P I wanted more Argyle in my life and I ended up with the origin story! Honestly really enjoyed this movie. It's absurd but well done. I was laughing so hard I was wheezing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/05/23 Full Review toby h The Binge was a surprisingly easy viewing comedy. We had low expectations but there are laughs to be had, even if it doesn't hit Superbad's heights. As usual, friendship underlies everything. Worth a watch if on a comedy binge. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times No amount of booze could make this Hulu teen comedy seem funny. Rated: 1/4 Aug 29, 2020 Full Review John DeFore Hollywood Reporter [A] raucous, happily irresponsible party that should help locked-in, bottled-up Americans release some steam. Aug 28, 2020 Full Review Tomris Laffly RogerEbert.com A tedious and only occasionally amusing comedic riff on The Purge franchise. Rated: 2/4 Aug 28, 2020 Full Review Maria Lattila The Digital Fix Despite a few good performances and a surprisingly wild performance from Vince Vaughn, The Binge might just be the worst film 2020 has to offer with zero laughs and a lot of problematic, outdated material. Aug 10, 2021 Full Review Alex Bentley CultureMap The Binge should serve as a cautionary tale for how not to make a movie, much less a comedy. Even a silly story with little at stake must take some kind of form or it to work. Feb 5, 2021 Full Review Matthew Turner Nerdly Ultimately, there's plenty to enjoy in The Binge, thanks to likeable characters, some inventively witty dialogue...just a shame that the central premise has so little impact on the plot.
