Noel Murray Los Angeles Times "The Black Room" is unabashedly trashy - with scene after scene of nudity and gore - but doesn't offer much beyond sensation. Apr 27, 2017 Full Review C.H. Newell Film Inquiry The Black Room is unbearably difficult to sit and watch. May 9, 2017 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com A few decently raunchy moments don't support an entire effort, which tends to miss more than hits as Kanefsky piles on the demonic mischief. Audience Member Mostly a bunch of weird sexual stuff and low budget monster costumes. The characters aren't very smart, but that's what makes it kind of funny. This was more a sexual comedy than any horror. The ending was a cliffhanger kind of, but didn't really make sense. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is a rare gem of the horror genre. It manages to make some of the scariest thing you could imagine ridiculous and boring. It seems like three screenwritter worked on it and none of them agree on what style the movie should be. Is it an horror movie? Is it a satire of an horror movie? Is it a dark comedy? Instead it tries to be the three of them simultaneously. Every single character acts like a complete idiot and in a fashion more akin to that of some "American Pie IV" movie. The plot is complete none sense. The special and practical effects are poor at best. The acting is seven sorts of bad. The musical score is a 100% stock music and the most ridiculous ones. It has a LOT of telegraphed jump-scares which I suppose represent 90% of the horror of the horror movie. I'm surprised anybody wanted to have it's name on such an end product, but apparently they did. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member I can't believe someone paid to get this film made. It was utter shite! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Horrible Sadistic Raunchy Movie Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/24/19 Full Review Audience Member I gave this 1/2 a star because of the scene where an invisible entity sexually assaults a woman. Now this kind of thing is normally horrific, but I laughed so hard that I almost wet my pants! Worst film I have ever seen, not funny enough to be up there with âThe Roomâ? and certainly NOT scary enough to be seriously considered a horror! Worth watching the first 10 minutes or so, just to see the spectral titty twizzling!!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Not scary at all but very entertaining.
