Aaron Phillips But Why Tho? A Geek Community While The Bombardment struggles to figure how to lay the foundation for the larger narrative of the film...this terrible tragedy is not for the faint of heart, but the story deserves to be told, and the impact of the lives lost should never be forgotten. Rated: 7/10 Jan 4, 2023 Full Review M.N. Miller Ready Steady Cut Haunting and visceral, Ole Bornedal’s beautifully shot film stays in your mind well after it’s over. Rated: 4/5 Nov 5, 2022 Full Review Erick Estrada Cinegarage No one can deny the impact of the tragedy told, especially since it's adapted from a true story. However, The Bombardment relies on certain narrative weaknesses that border on the obvious and platitudinal. Jasper M When I watched it for the first time a couple of years ago it was because I wanted to practice my Danish and my options to do so were a bit limited on Netflix. It was so good that I now watched it for the third time yesterday. I absolutely recommend watching the original version, without dubbing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/16/24 Full Review Bob B poorly titled as many people will not watch it thinking it's just another war movie, but it's much, much more. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/11/24 Full Review Brian L Superb ... an unexpected gem Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/04/23 Full Review Luis M. D Some parts might not be entirely convincing, such as the nun's illicit romance just to prove God's existence, but the final sequence showing the horror of the bombardment is superb. It alone justifies the rating. Very good! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/23 Full Review Matt One of the worse movies I have seen. Boring and pointless story for most of the plot, but my biggest complaint is the outright villainization of the RAF pilots. Right from the opening scence the RAF pilots are made out as incompetent and are villainized by the tragic accident that the story portays and at the same time creates a redemption arc for a nazi collaborator. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/07/23 Full Review Ian R Such an unexpectedly good film. Tells the little known story of an English bombing raid against the Gestapo headquarters in WW2 Copenhagen. Beautifully filmed and directed. The child characters steal most of the scenes. The movie is intelligent and the side story involving Sister Teresa adds an interesting theological element. Good that Netflix is investing in European films. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews
