John H A masterpiece of its era - wonderful storytelling! Punches above its weight in all aspects of cinematography, arrangement and score. It dances through the Christmas landscape without fear of affecting its target audience. At times it can genuinely frighten younger viewers, but then again, without that, it would certainly lose its appeal to others. This maybe why it wasn’t repeated as often as its theatrical merit deserves. For those unafraid of exposing their younger viewers to such fair, I can only recommend it as a journey into wonderland, both fearful and magical in equal measure.
