Mark Wilson brings a grounded, atmospheric approach to horror that feels confident and controlled. He lets scenes breathe. He leans into silence. He is not rushing to throw scares at you every few seconds. Go to Full Review

The care and craft that went into the film is noticeable, right down to the hand-painted storybook illustrations created by artist Richard Ingersoll. Go to Full Review

...a home invasion plot that centers on a story about a witch. That’s the very brief description, but the actual story surprises as it goes much deeper than that. It’s also a lot darker than I ever expected, which makes it hit hard. In all the right ways! Go to Full Review

Logan D @Greynomad38 5d Following her mother's death, a young woman struggles in her relationship with her father, who doesn't want her to leave for college but stay and take care of her brother. While the father is gone for his work, the two siblings begin to suspect their mother's book about a local witch may not just be a story. An unhurried film with a strength grounded in the relationship between the sister and brother. Most of the film is structured around the isolation of their house and the legacy of the author mother. Really more of a thriller with a strong female hero. See more Sam S @Sammy1979 May 3 It's a good watch not at what you would expect, blood. Scares, goes down a dark route with a twist near the end See more Rachel C. @RT16531170 Apr 27 I really enjoyed the quality and acting. I have seen worse, so give it a try.... See more Evan H. @eh_98 Feb 23 Exceeded expectations especially in terms of acting quality. Would recommend. See more Luisa M @ELMinky Feb 19 The perfect spooky movie for a rainy day! It's dark and a bit heavy, layered with raw emotions, suspense, and a plot that keeps you guessing until the very end. Impressive performances by all of the actors! It's definitely a film that makes you think, and stays with you for a while.. See more Joel P @autumn1015 Feb 10 First off, this is not a five star movie. It’s better than average but that’s not a raving endorsement. It’s starts slow (omg, did I pick another bad movie?), gets better (creepy with chills), a bit of action, then goes soft, illogical, improbable and syrupy. See more Read all reviews
