The Ceremony is About to Begin borrows heavily from the dynamic found within Creep, with the inclusion of Egyptian artifacts helping set it apart from the crowd. Go to Full Review

Like The Sacrament meets Creep, but with mummies, The Ceremony is About to Begin unearths an intriguing premise yet trips here and there over its loosely bandaged together structure. Go to Full Review

Reminiscent of great faux documentary films like "Creep", this disturbing but darkly funny film takes the viewer places they are not prepared for. Big points for originality. It's low-budget and low-tech, but that only helps create authenticity. Go to Full Review

Uncle B. @sorryimcursed Oct 7 Despite brief effort and potential, The Ceremony Is About to Begin collapses under weak writing, flat performances, and an ending that leaves nothing but confusion. See more Whitney C Sep 7 This was a fun watch, especially for found footage fans. The acting was good & I liked the premise and characters. The credits scene was very entertaining. There were some surprising scares as well. Would definitely like to see more from these filmmakers. See more Susan G Sep 6 Loved the cast, the acting, and the setting. The story was great, but the much-anticipated ending per the reviews, fell short. See more Stoner J @Stoner Jul 20 If you love ‘Creep’, you’ll love this. It’s not as great as that but short, and creepy sweet. And like ‘Creep’, it’s got an amazingly dark ending, a little too dark though, I almost feel sick actually See more Anthony M Jul 14 Why found footage films are still a thing all these years after 'The Blair Witch Project' is baffling. At least Blair Witch had novelty to recommend it. Surely today no one seriously buys into the conceit that someone fighting for their life would keep filming. As for 'The Ceremony Is About To Begin', there is some tension generated in the movie relating to the increasingly ominous dynamic between the two main characters, but that build up is effectively punctured by a denouement that is just plain silly.
