Audience Member Interesting and painful to watch. Historical context brought true perspective to the atrocities inflicted on the protesters and activists of those years. Free speech was only tolerated if it didn't disrupt the status quo. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't know enough about this topic. It was pretty one sided but stIll feel like I have learned a little more than what I knew. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Well-meaning film and there is no doubting the sincerity of the cast (most of whom were not even born yet). However, the film trots out just about every cliche in the Sixties playbook. The scene in which the young folks in the courtroom burst out in a spontaneous chorus of "We Shall Overcome" would be almost laughable if it wasn't intended to be so serious. Add this to a half-baked list of films (Taking Woodstock and Flashback come immediately to mind) that could be subtitled "The Way We Weren't" Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I am not sure what it is but this film didn't feel well executed. I couldn't even finish watching it. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting and well acted but it lacked vision. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member A pretty powerful, riveting courtroom drama based on true events. It's inspiring and intriguing. This is what it means to stand up and fight for what you believe is right, to stand up against the establishment. When I think about the winded-down Occupy Wall Street movement, I feel they could've learned a thing or two from the anti-war protests back in the day. OWS, from what I understand, accomplished nothing compared to what the Vietnam protests did, possibly thanks to the conflicted messages/reasoning. And I'm surprised that judge was allowed to continue overseeing trials. He was horribly unfit for his job. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
