rew s We've watched Miracle Down Under with my dad every year since it was shown on PBS in 1987. We love it. We had TV recording that wore out, then found a store VHS that is on its last legs. I wish they would make a DVD. It is sweet and humorous and realistic. It is about a little boy, Ned, in 1890's Australia during a drought. Ned finds a rascally old man he believes is Santa Claus and decides to be as good as gold so he will get his Christmas gift. Meanwhile we see his sister's budding romance with a rich landowner's son. The landowner is blocking their water supply and has a complicated past with the rascally old man. Dee Wallace is lovely as the mom and Andrew Furguson is adorable as Ned. I think the whole cast is great. My dad grew up in the depression and may relate to the family's hardships and the frontier outback, but the story's honest sweetness is what really keeps us all hooked. This Story Is More Genuine & Real To Me. Good Stuff. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
