"The Corn Is Green" (1945) is wonderful little movie about how a spirited lady (Bette Davis) brings education to a Welsh mining village. Fine acting all round (a memorable performance by Bette Davis and Oscar nominated performances by a couple of young actors), taut screenplay and dialogues, and a focus on character development makes this a welcome movie on a winter's night.

Bette Davis=Great Performance. One of her best. John Dall=Brilliant Performance. Nigel Bruce=Typical character role for Bruce. Wonderful story! Chorus singing is inspirational! Fast paced. Good direction & overall production above par! God bless progressives.
