The identical twins Louis (Trevor Eve) and Lucien de Franchi (also Eve) are born conjoined but separated successfully in a risky surgical procedure. Although the brothers grow up to share an indistinguishable appearance, their temperaments and philosophies differ. Louis rejects the long feud his family has maintained with the de Guidice family, but Lucien wants to settle the score. Both, however, share a particular passion: their love for the beautiful Annamarie de Guidice (Olivia Hussey).
