The setup premise that anyone remembers or cares about a child murder 10 years later, enough to even remotely dislike or recognize the protagonist is even more far fetched than the crooked man. I am not sure what is more unbelievable the facts of a group of kids all still living in the same town, let alone remembering each other or that this monster waited till this point to keep killing people. The original crooked man was a nursery rhyme, which was made into a game, and this movie is just mooching off of the popularity of the game just like they did with Slenderman. The crooked man looks like shit, the effects on him are awful, he doesn't have anything crooked about him, he's supposed to look scary but he just looks like an angry old man with arthritis. They even copied the crooked man photo from the game at the end, but he looked nothing like the photo they themselves made! The actors we're meh, and they tried to throw in some stupid romance.
