The idea of a sinister children’s rhyme coming to life is creepy on its own, and the movie shows flashes of what could have been an effective supernatural horror story. Unfortunately, the execution is uneven. The film struggles to commit to a clear tone, bouncing between eerie folklore, psychological horror, and standard creature scares without fully embracing any of them. Direction feels uncertain, and tension often fades just when it should peak. The cast isn’t the issue; the actors do their best with the material, and there’s potential in the characters that never gets explored. Ultimately, The Crooked Man isn’t terrible, but it’s disappointing. It’s a movie filled with "almost" moments—almost scary, almost engaging, almost memorable—but it never becomes the chilling horror experience it should have been. The cgi is absolutely horrible, more of a comedy movie than a horror movie, even actors are so bad at acting. Time waste.
