Audience Member AKA Angels of Darkness. 3 1/2 out of 5. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Styria, Curse of Styria, Angels of Darkness, what the fuck is your title, m8? The actual film was titled Angels of Darkness so I guess that's what they decided on really (what a terrible name!). I don't know how I feel about this. I think the relationship with Carmilla is well done, and the castle and town are both really perfect. The actual story though, is very messy. I mean, the original story leaves a lot to be desired because it's so short, but in an attempt to make it into a movie they just... abandoned a bunch of that and made it, well, messy. It's pretty neat though and super atmospheric . Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member also listed as "Angels of Darkness" This film has a ton of story to work with but what is delivered is just OK. Still it's worth watching Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Frances H Visually interesting film about a young girl's fascination with a bother girl who proves to be a vampire. Very atmospheric. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/26/15 Full Review Audience Member This is an amazing effort from a promising director! This movie has all the right amounts of mood and tantalizing dread! It carries a lot of folklore and superstitions that, for this viewer, are equivalent to telling a deliciously creepy ghost story around the campfire! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member A typical old world horror story about a legend that comes back and terrorises a small town. Nothing that has not been done before, and better so nothing special here. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Kim Newman Electric Sheep Arty and sometimes too elliptical for its own good - Carmilla draws art film attention as much as commercial horror - Styria is nevertheless an interesting, unusual vampire movie. Aug 15, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews
