What to Know

Critics Consensus

The Devil All the Time's descent into darkness can be harrowing to the point of punishment, but it's offset by strong work from a stellar cast.

The Devil All the Time has the pretensions of a mythopoetic story that's chipping away at a community's dark underbelly. But here the misery is as belly-up and eager to be noticed as a house cat or a dead fish. Go to Full Review

There are instances of heart and significance scattered throughout the film, but it too often gives into its wandering nature and stops itself from ever making a lasting impression. Go to Full Review

Antonio Campos’ saga of interconnected tragedy is a satisfying, exhausting reckoning of all-American ambition. Go to Full Review

please do not do a flashback of a scene that I already saw moments ago. A quick flash to remind us of what happened earlier is fine, but rewatching the entire scene feels repetitive and monotonous. It is not as if the scene was that good the first time Go to Full Review

I love the final product we got and with the incredible cast performances, compelling story, and the dark tone that lingered throughout the long-yet-warranted screen time, this is a film that has stuck with me since I first saw it. Go to Full Review

Beks C @beks22 Mar 8 I went into this film unsure of what to expect and came out deeply moved and thoroughly impressed. It rings so true to life (sadly) and has some really important things to say about PTSD, human psychology, grief, violence, poverty, religion and a lot more. Each actor fully embodied his or her role and gave complex, fascinating performances. See more Lexi R @caitlynswife34 Mar 8 this is honestly one of the best movies I have seen in years. the plot is hard to follow at the start but half an hour in, its easy to understand. the acting is literally incredible and makes the show feel so much more real and raw. the characters are so well written and the cast just makes it all come to life. the plot is amazing, understandable and filled with so much suspense throughout the whole thing and more people should watch it. I find it super hard to get into a movie and if its boring I will just turn it off but I was completely hooked throughout the entire thing. well written, good cast, good character development. overall one of the best watches yet See more Andrew W. @Drucifer Feb 28 I thought it was an amazing movie See more DEBLINA P @Lina2907 Feb 18 Absolutely must watch movie for thriller and crime lovers. Actually dude like me who loves guns and bullets and bombs along with murder for justice will love this movie. Great acting by Tom and Pattinson. 😍😍😍. See more Swaus G @SwausGebouwen Feb 14 Trauma-bait film made for the sake of having content to stream. Do you think the adoration of the audience is won by flash-banging them with repeated instances of stabbing, shagging and hanging? It just leaves me numb. Nothing in the film makes sense - the pacing of these events is really, really bad. Rather than build up tension and drama, the oversaturstion of trauma just has me shouting at the screen in frustration - "Is this hell? Are they just living in literal hell? Because it seems like you're torturing these characters for your own pleasure!" I just think things should happen for a reason in a moie, rather than exploring 'hey so what if life was literally unbearable in every-which-way for these characters?" Comic books can cover that, instead. See more The H. @moviebuffaloe Feb 2 A barrage of themes created out of a clear disdain for people who believe all while padded with immoral physical trauma unfolding into a pit of hopelessness. No wonder Hollywood loved it. See more Read all reviews
