Hannah C @Crawfordh 3d Absolute shit movie. Relies on the gore of killing innocent animals and women to "scare" you. Dumb as fuck. Not worth your time. Poorly written and executed. See more Death H 4d Under-appreciated by critics, who I think expected a more serious drama. The tone and narration is light and almost fable-esque, which gives everything a sense of unreality. But ultimately it works, because like a fable the point is to tell a moralizing tale. Here about the legacy of violence and trauma brought back from war and the desperation and poverty that keep people trapped in these cycles across generations. For decades, Hollywood has been on a mission to portray christians as being crazy and anyone who confesses Jesus as their Savior, unhinged lunatics. See more Jun 17 Entertaining and well acted throughout, but the screenplay is just dissapointing. The purposeless narration kills any real tension for most of the movie, only saying what's happening or whats about to happen. Nothing is really left to interpretation because of the hand-fisted script and lack of inspired shot composition/visual storytelling. On a positive note, the dog on the cross was a phenomenal use of gross-out horror, (and was set up pretty well) that I appreciated the film not overly indulging in. See more Read all reviews
