The viewer is left with a bad taste in the mouth. We have no characters to feel sympathy for, except perhaps her father and sister. It looks extremely fake, the acting is terrible and the lead actress is terrible along with most of the cast. I thought it was fictional until I read that it was based on the life of actress Lida Baarová. Worth watching for the period costumes and sets, or if you have an interest in Czech history and World War II.
