Robbie Collin Daily Telegraph (UK) It's all good grim fun, with a visceral kick. Aug 9, 2018 Full Review Andrew Murray The Upcoming A whistle-stop tour of wicked creativity with an added serving of dark humour, this Warriors meets Escape From New York thriller ... makes for one hugely entertaining flick. Rated: 3/5 Feb 9, 2021 Full Review Paul Mount Starburst The Domestics doesn't really take us anywhere we haven't gone before, but Nelson tells his lean and blunt story with some style. Rated: 7/10 Aug 20, 2018 Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed It's pure blissful, loony post apocalyptic movie porn and hot damn if I didn't love every single minute of it from beginning to end. Jul 3, 2018 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Delivers B-movie jolts and agony without lingering on ugliness, maintaining enough of a ride to get some oxygen into entertainment that typically suffocates on labored nihilism. Rated: B+ Jul 3, 2018 Full Review Blake Crane Film Pulse For lovers of survivalist savagery, dark humor, practical mayhem and other genre goodies, The Domestics is bliss. james n Fun, dark, and kinda funny. the world feals like it has depth, some of the characters are a bit thin, but fleshed out more than they have any right to be, with how little screen time they're given. the action is well done, the final scene is intense, and Nina's arc is great. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/29/24 Full Review Audience Member Was an entertaining movie. Hoechlin stole the movie. Recommended watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/27/24 Full Review nick s A derivitave apocalypse fan film, with all the usual running and fighting against gangs. Not much of a story. If you like that sort of genre it's just another one. The production had some good points... the fight scenes weren't too bad, some of the cinematography was good and the leads were okay. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/21/24 Full Review prawnda s i don't feel that my time was wasted, and i think everyone here put in a fair bit of effort, but there are much better films. another review says this is derivative of "book of eli". i actually think it's much more influenced by the fallout series. there's combat music that's almost identical to new vegas at times, and starts at the same moments it would during an in game encounter. perhaps there are similarities to book of eli as well, but the stylized salvage gear/decor, the stealth exploration of abandoned buildings, warring gimmicky factions, and store shelves littered with refuse are clearly inspired by fallout. i guess there's no working cars in most fallout games, but there aren't any in book of eli either. perhaps some of the more outlandish gear is inspired by borderlands. anyways, most of the film feels a bit borrowed and vague. it's not exactly bad or good, but perhaps you will enjoy it if you like post apocalyptic stuff. fair warning that some characters act in completely irrational ways that would risk their survival, but it's not so flagrant as some other similar films i've seen. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/24/24 Full Review Stoner J It’s very ‘Book Of Eli’ish They copied A LOT from the Book of Eli, in setting and all the getups the gangs wear, but for me, Eli was a lot better. This one did have some great action scenes for sure though Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/20/24 Full Review Audience Member This is an entertaining post-apocalyptic movie. The leads were great in their roles. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/07/24 Full Review Read all reviews
