Amy-Lee W I love apocalyptic movies and with a score of 100%, I had to watch this! I find that 90% of these sorts of movies always leave me with apocalypse blue-balls but this one didn't. Even though it was full of clichés and subtle plot holes (maybe down to editing??) I was entertained :) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/24/23 Full Review billy b Its entertaining. that is what counts Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Orion Films and director Mike P. Nelson present Kate Bosworth and Tyler Hoechlin America suddenly fell apart many years ago A black poison killed millions to 'reset' the nation but the survivors divided into factions; Gangs called sheets, gamblers, cherries, nailers, plowers, and the Domestics all at war with each other A desolate post apocalyptic society determined to kill each other every day The focus here is a Domestic couple Nina and Mark hoping to safely make it across the country avoiding any fighting But they have to get past one depraved group pushing their breaking point for survival This ended up being average at best; the violent portions end up being so far and few in between A lot of the character moments are less interesting dragging things out and not as humorous as I expected The ending is where things get really exciting with many more savage individuals coming after the couple in the one place they feel most safe This isn't quite Mad Max-level, you can tell this is on a tiny budget wishing the world was bigger But Bosworth and Hoechlin make this grim future intense being not too far from reality They both finally embrace the skills needed to live freely in this dead world Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/29/23 Full Review Ash C This was an engaging movie with great acting. Def recommend if looking for something to enjoy. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/14/23 Full Review Joe P I give 4 stars because it's a survival/apocalypse movie so you should know what to expect. It's fun, fast paced, with survival imagery straight out of video games. Go into expecting something fun and you'll love it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Paul M Different. Robbie Collin Daily Telegraph (UK) It's all good grim fun, with a visceral kick. Aug 9, 2018 Full Review Andrew Murray The Upcoming A whistle-stop tour of wicked creativity with an added serving of dark humour, this Warriors meets Escape From New York thriller ... makes for one hugely entertaining flick. Rated: 3/5 Feb 9, 2021 Full Review Paul Mount Starburst The Domestics doesn't really take us anywhere we haven't gone before, but Nelson tells his lean and blunt story with some style. Rated: 7/10 Aug 20, 2018 Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed It's pure blissful, loony post apocalyptic movie porn and hot damn if I didn't love every single minute of it from beginning to end. Jul 3, 2018 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Delivers B-movie jolts and agony without lingering on ugliness, maintaining enough of a ride to get some oxygen into entertainment that typically suffocates on labored nihilism. Rated: B+ Jul 3, 2018 Full Review Blake Crane Film Pulse For lovers of survivalist savagery, dark humor, practical mayhem and other genre goodies, The Domestics is bliss.
