Vincent Canby Motion Picture Herald (Exhibitors Herald) This new film, while almost completely devoid of dramatic highlight, is an appealing and sentimental valentine to one of America’s great entertainers. Mar 18, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member I really liked this musical biopic. Keefe Brasselle did a fine job portraying the musical comedian and entertainer "Eddie Cantor". Young Richard Monda as young Eddie was right on. Aline MacMahon stole the whole show with her most profound and exceptional acting as Grandma Esther. Marilyn Erskine was appropriately given the role of Eddie Cantor's wife "Ida". The critics are sometimes blind when it comes to poor movie reviews and this is one that should've been an exception in my opinion.
